This workshop provides hands-on experience for understanding and wielding the power of Endurica’s workflows. You will learn from our founder, Dr. Will Mars, live online. Join us from the comfort of your home or office. (No travel required!) A trial license of our entire software suite is included. A link of the recorded presentation for review is sent after each session. Additionally, Dr. Mars is available every class day for “office hours” to answer your questions.

Course Outline

Learn how powerful it is to do multiple iterations simulating aspects of tire performance including self-heating, rolling resistance, high-speed, durability, ageing and oxidation. Training licenses included for all of Endurica’s software packages.

1. Intro to the Endurica toolbox

• CL: Safe life analysis
• DT: Damage tolerant analysis

2. Tire Modeling Workflow Basics

• 2D Static analysis: Mount, Inflate
• 3D Static analysis: Symmetric Model Generation, Symmetric Results Transfer, Footprint
• Steady State Rolling: Driving/Braking, Free Rolling, Slip Angle/Lateral Force Generation

3. Infinite Life Workflow

• Rubber’s fatigue limit
• Crack precursors in tires
• Critical Plane Analysis for multiaxial loading
• Defining Steady State Rolling
• Computing Safety Factor with Endurica CL
• Viewing the Safety Factor sphere

4. Safe Life Workflow

• Fracture mechanics: tearing energy and fatigue crack growth
• Strain crystallization
• Outputs: Stress-strain, crack growth, Haigh diagrams, Life sphere and crack orientation, strain, stress, energy histories
• Steady state rolling / basic tire durability for a single loading condition
• Lagrange rolling / sidewall lettering under ozone attack

5. Incremental Workflow and Damage Tolerance

• Specifying a schedule of testing steps
• Tracking crack development, residual strength and residual life
• Combining transient and steady state load cases: damage during obstacle impacts
• Co-simulation and ageing

6. Multiphysics workflows

• Steady state self-heating and rolling resistance
