ELASTOMERS WEEK AT LEARTIKER – CHARACTERIZING ELASTOMER FATIGUE BEHAVIOR FOR ANALYSIS AND FEA

Specialized training on Characterizing Elastomer Fatigue Behavior for Analysis and FEA.

Join us at Leartiker Academy Lea Artibai Innovation Center, Markina-Xemein, Spain.

This course covers the essential principles and practices of elastomer material characterization for fatigue life analysis and prediction, making use of crack nucleation and fracture mechanics tools. Attendees will learn the key approaches to perform efficient fatigue tests and simulations.

Organized by Leartiker (Spain-based research and development company specializing in polymer technology) with the collaboration of Endurica.

We offer the opportunity to speak with the instructors from both Leartiker and Endurica privately about your questions and your company’s specific needs.

Although the course will be taught in English, we have bilingual staff for translation into Spanish.

Attendees can bring their own samples for testing.

Start Date: 2023-06-14

End Date: 2023-06-16

Duration: 24 hours

Language: English

This course is aimed at professionals working in the elastomer materials field and dealing with elastomer-based material and product quality control, research and developments.

Dr. Will Mars, Founder and President at ENDURICA LLC

William V. Mars, P.E., Ph.D. is international leader in the failure mechanics of rubber and elastomers. Will is the founder and president of Endurica LLC, developers of the world’s first commercial durability simulation software for elastomers, and the most efficient fatigue testing protocols for elastomers. Will has received several awards for his scientific contributions, including the 2022 Herzlich Medal for outstanding impact and innovation in the tire industry, the 2020 Tibbetts Award from the United States Small Business Administration in recognition of accomplishments in creating cutting-edge technologies, the 2017 Rubber Division ACS Arnold Smith Special Service Award, the 2007 Sparks Thomas award of ACS Rubber Division, and the 1999 Henry Fuchs award of the SAE Fatigue Design & Evaluation Committee. He served as the editor of the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society journal Rubber Chemistry & Technology, for 10 years and is also the past editor of Tire Science & Technology. Will has authored or co-authored 60+ peer-reviewed publications and holds four patents. He is a sought-after leader on what he calls the “special effects” of rubber and elastomers, including material characterization, product evaluation, constitutive modeling, crack nucleation, fracture mechanics, and fatigue life prediction methods.
